Add to that the fact that this was going to be an M/M romance, and well, I make no secret of this particular romance sub-genre being my absolute favorite, so let's just say that my expectations had a whole lot of anticipation and trepidation stacked on top of them. I've read five of Johnson's novels in the past ( Sacred Hart, all three of her Avenues Ink novels, and Breakaway), so I knew just how good of a storyteller she was. Johnson?!? There's this phrase that I think is really useful and powerful and potent explanatory phrase that we don't really use anymore in analysis of politics and it will become clear in a second why that is when I say the phrase. They are at war sometimes so, yeah, all that and stuff. Warnings: A man drugs a woman, slavery, some drinking, mentions of being unfaithful, (not true.), characters die. I loved this book and I don't often say that about the Biblical fiction I read. She did amazing with the setting and stayed true to the time without taking away from the enjoyment of fiction. There isn't much that people know about the time this novel was set in but Cossette showed what I imagine life was like during the time. My Thoughts: This Biblical fiction, was actually Biblical fiction - set during Bible times but not changing a book of the Bible. ![]() ![]() (King James Version.) ![]() ![]() Further examples include an early world map known as the Piri Reis map, which von Däniken describes as showing Earth as it is seen from space, and the Nazca Lines in Peru, which he suggests may have been constructed by humans as crude replicas of previous alien structures, as a way to call the aliens back to Earth. Such artifacts include the Egyptian pyramids, Stonehenge, and the Moai of Easter Island. Many of those theories have now been debunked. Von Däniken maintains that these artifacts were produced either by extraterrestrial visitors or by humans who learned the necessary knowledge from extraterrestrials. Von Däniken suggests that some ancient structures and artifacts appear to reflect more sophisticated technological knowledge than is known or presumed to have existed at the times they were manufactured. ![]() The main thesis of Chariots of the Gods is that extraterrestrial beings influenced ancient technology.
